This study evaluated the residence time of various solutes in the ice cover of Saginaw Bay and Lake Huron (U.S.) using an ice model coupled with thermal, hydrodynamic, and solute transport models. The models were tested, and the results indicated that solutes are likely released from the ice in the Great Lakes between March and April.
