After the IPCC provided new guidance for including wetlands in greenhouse gas (GHG) inventories in 2013, the United States integrated managed coastal wetlands into its GHG Inventory in 2017. This study presents evidence that intact vegetated coastal wetlands are a net sink for GHGs, and it elaborates on the importance of these wetlands from a regulatory standpoint.
