This study used water quality monitoring data from the Maryland and Virginia Departments of Natural Resources and Environmental Quality, respectively, to predict the distribution of Vibrio vulnificus bacteria in the Chesapeake Bay. The results indicate that both temperature and salinity have strong impacts on the habitat preferences of Vibrio species.
