The researchers in this study design a laboratory flow cell to quantify the chemical transport from soil to runoff water. Their data confirmed the general form of the convection-diffusion equation; however, the results provide additional quantitative data that describe the contribution of each chemical loading process under different surface runoff/soil hydrological conditions.
