This study aimed to quantify the biomass of phytoplankton in Lake Winnipeg (Canada) by analyzing runoff activation timing and hydrologic connectivity data against over 350 multi-year satellite images. The results indicate that the timing of runoff activitation and hydrologic connectivity can act as a predictive metric for aglal bloom occurrence in Lake Winnipeg.
