The National Water Quality Assessment (NAWQA) Program of the U.S. Geological Survey conducted a comprehensive national analysis of 51 major hydrologic systems across the country from 1992-2001. NAWQA results show where, when, and why specific pesticides occur in streams and ground water across the Nation, and yield science-based implications for assessing and managing the quality of our water resources
