This article compares the accuracy and efficiency of comparative risk assessment (CRA) and multi-criteria decision analysis (MCDA) for environmental decision-making. The article also proposes a decision analysis framework that incorporates MCDA and adaptive management; the framework is illustrated with a case study of sediment management practices in the New York/New Jersey Harbor (U.S.).
