This paper was written for and presented at the 2006 Annual International Meeting of the American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers. It chronicles the history and effects of wind erosion and its mitigation measures in the U.S. The study evaluated the efficiency of the wood version of agricultural straw (i.e., wood strands) at reducing sediment loss from wind erosion and preserving air quality.
