This research report and manual was funded by the U.S. EPA and Pennsylvania Department of Transportation. This report identifies, explains, and encourages the implementation of environmentally sensitive maintenance practices for dirt and gravel roads in an effort to minimize nonpoint source pollution. It contains a manual and technical information sheets that aim to reduce the erosion, sediment, and dust pollution that occurs as a result of maintaining dirt and gravel roads.
