This report summarizes the findings of the South Carolina Drought and Water Shortage Tabletop Exercise. Although many of South Carolina’s drought response mechanisms were addressed by the 2000 Drought Response Act and Regulations, a systematic effort has not yet been made to assess their efficacy. This event helped to identify the strengths and weaknesses of the state’s drought response and opportunities to prepare for future water shortages.
