This paper assesses the relationships between impervious cover, temperature, pest insect abundance, and street tree health (specifically Acer rubrum, red maple). The study developed impervious cover thresholds that can be used for planting site prioritization. It also presents the ”pace-to-plant” technique, which is an in-field technique used to estimate impervious cover around a planting site.
