This study compared the stormwater temperatures of runoff from a light-colored chip seal pavement and from traditional asphalt pavement. The results showed that runoff from the light-colored pavement was cooler than runoff from the standard asphalt. Additionally, the results showed that underground conveyance structures can substantially reduce runoff temperature.
