This study performed a large-scale, systematic assessment of groundwater quality, specifically investigating the presence of hormones and pharmaceuticals. Samples were taken from over 1000 principal aquifers across the United States and were tested for 21 and 103 different hormones and pharmaceuticals, respectively.
