bacteria, coastal, sampling, dry-weather flow
This article follows research performed to determine the origins of fecal indicator bacteria (FIB) associated with human fecal pollution (sewage) in storm drains that discharge to coastal creeks flowing to Santa Barbara beaches. The overall goals are to determine origins of sewage contamination in storm drains during dry weather, and to compile a protocol for other communities to use for similar source tracking purposes, based on the results of this research.
