Hoomehr, S., Akinola, A. I., Wynn-Thompson, T., Garnand, W., Eick, M. J., , . 2018. Water Temperature, pH, and Road Salt Impacts on the Fluvial Erosion of Cohesive Streambanks: Water. MDPI, . 10, . 302
Analysis, Erosion, Road salt, Streams, Streamflow, Water quality, Temperature, Chloride, Fluvial, Winter maintenance
This study evaluated the effects of water temperature and chemistry, clay minerology, and zeta potential on streambank erosion rates. The results indicate that water chemistry has a substantial role in the fluvial erosion of cohesive streambanks. The article also discusses the management implications of these findings.
