This study documented the coastal changes that occurred along the coasts of the northeastern United States as a result of Hurricane Matthew. Prior to the incidence of Hurricane Matthew, USGS forecasted potential coastal changes and developed pre-storm management guidance. Following the storm, aerial photographs and lidar surveys were collected in order to validate the predictions made prior to the storm and to compare pre- and post-storm coastal conditions.
