This study evaluated the role of hydrochory (dispersal via water) on the riparian plant community compositions along the Ume and Vindel Rivers (Sweden). The results indicate that plant dispersal by water and fluvial disturbances (like dams) play important roles in the determining the species richness of riparian plant communities.
