This study evaluated the impacts of groundwater availability on three riparian tree species (two native, one exotic) along the Bill Williams (dam-regulated) and Hassayampa (free-flowing) Rivers (Arizona, U.S.). The results indicate that deep groundwater negatively impacts the native riparian species more than the exotic species. The study also provides range estimates for the most favorable groundwater depth conditions for each of the native riparian species.
