This study evaluated the sources of nitrogen inputs using a global model in order to inform management actions. The model considers the impacts of anthropogenic activities, land use, climate conditions, and atmospheric composition on nitrogen loads. The results indicate that tropical regions contribute over 50% of the world’s nitrogen pollution.
