This study evaluated the value of over 35 lentic wetlands as stocks of both woody and aquatic plants. It includes an analysis of diversity and species composition organized by type and origin. Over 500 plant species were recorded in the study. The results suggest that lentic wetlands are refuges for native vegetation and account for a substantial percentage of the species found in the Orinoco basin.
