This report was prepared by the University of Minnesota’s St. Anthony Falls Laboratory for the Minnesota Department of Transportation’s Local Road Research Board. The study monitored chloride concentrations for three (3) winter seasons in small, sewered watersheds in urban areas of the northern U.S. The resulting data was also used to evaluate the possible efficacy of snowmelt capture for chloride load mitigation.
