This research report contains documentation of a 3-year project conducted by the Maryland Department of Agriculture. In this project, outreach/training opportunities on managing ditch-drained agroecosystems were provided to 450 landowners and producers. A group of technical experts was established to assist landowners with implementing new management practices. Demonstration sites for progressive practices in drainage ditches were funded, and site tours, workshops, and producer meetings were conducted. Additionally, nutrient and sediment reduction capacities were quantified, and a website with BMP fact sheets was created.
