This report describes an effort conducted by the County of Bernalillo (New Mexico, U.S.) and the U.S. Geological Survey to characterize the concentration and resultant loads of polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) entering the Rio Grande River (New Mexico, U.S.). Water quality and sediment samples from the Rio Grande’s contributing watersheds were analyzed, and a rainfall-runoff model for arid climates was used to estimate stormwater discharge.
