This report was prepared by the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) in cooperation with the Department of the Navy, Northwest Naval Facilities Enineering Command. This study evaluated the impacts of tidal fluctuations on froundwater levels by monitoring groundwater and surface-water levels at nearly 25 individual sampling locations in Keyport, Washington (U.S.). Analysis of the resultant data granted insight on the most optimal times to sample groundwater for various contaminants.
