This report provides an overview of the Regional Ecosystem Analysis of the Chesapeake Bay Region that American Forests conducted to determine how the landscape has changed from 1973 to 1997. It also discusses the important roles that trees play in urban communities and how to use tree cover as a measure and indicator for environmental quality.
